Rapper Offset Invests In Leading Esports Collective FaZe Clan

Another rap luminary has invested in one of esports’ buzziest factions.

Offset, who is a member of hip hop trio Migos and the husband of Cardi B, has tendered an undisclosed investment in the FaZe Clan. In a statement, Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, called FaZe Clan “the biggest esports organization with some of the best players in the world.”

Offset isn’t the only rapper to be affiliated with FaZe. Rapper Miles ‘Lil Yachty’ McCollum joined the group as a content creator in December.

“We view Offset as an amazing addition to the FaZe Clan family and look forward to working closely with him to develop co-branded experiences, content, apparel, and anything else his incredibly creative mind can conceive of,” FaZe Clan president Greg Selkoe said in a statement. “Our roots and DNA are gaming, but we have built a lifestyle brand and social movement around this. What is key to our formula is that everyone we bring into the FaZe Clan family has to first have an authentic love for gaming and Offset is both one of the planet’s biggest musicians and a skilled gamer and esports aficionado as well.”

Members in the FaZe Clan compete in various games and also post lifestyle content on their respective social platforms. The organization was established in 2010 and currently counts 210 million fans across all social media platforms globally.

Offset is not the only rapper to enter the esports fray. Drake, whose co-stream with Ninja helped catapult the Fortnite pro to renown, is an investor in competing organization 100 Thieves.
