GloZell Pacts With PETA For Meat-Free Mukbang In Honor Of ‘National Splurge Day’

Comedic YouTube star GloZell Green (4.7 million subscribers) has joined forces with animal rights outfit People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals (PETA) for an online campaign aiming to show that vegans can splurge just as heartily as their meat-eating counterparts.

In honor of ‘National Splurge Day‘ yesterday (an unofficial holiday allegedly dating back to 1994), Green — who has been open about her veganism for years — created a mukbang-style video with PETA alongside the actor Kate Duffy, in which the two chow down on meat-free BBQ chicken wings, caviar, tacos, crab cakes, and an entire Thanksgiving meal. The video also served to promote the fact that PETA offers vegan free starter kits

for prospective converts, which include ideas for vegan versions of classic dishes.

“It’s delicious. And no animals had to be hurt. Hallelujah,” Green says in the video. “I hope I’m not being punked. Because it really does taste like cheese. I’m telling you, vegan food has come a long way. I’ve been missing out.”
