After premiering her Coachella concert documentary on Netflix last week, which also chronicled her return to the stage after birthing twins, Beyoncé Knowles has reportedly signed a $60 million deal with the streaming giant.
The deal will comprise a total of three projects, according to Variety — the first of which was Homecoming. That said, given Knowles’ airtight privacy and longstanding press-aversion, details about the remaining two projects are still scant. Netflix reportedly paid $20 million for Homecoming, according to Variety, on which Knowles served as EP, writer, and director. Netflix reportedly outbid HBO for the piece, given that HBO previously distributed the songstress’ visual album Lemonade, the On The Run Tour concert doc, and another doc titled Life Is But A Dream.
Knowles’ pricey deal with Netflix isn’t the only pact that the streamer has forged with an entertainment luminary. The company also has deals in place with Shonda Rhimes ($100 million), Ryan Murphy ($250 million), Chris Rock ($40 million), and Dave Chappelle ($60 million).
Netflix has teamed up with other prominent musicians to release concert films and documentaries, including Taylor Swift, Bruce Springstein, Lady Gaga, and Quincy Jones.
