YouTube stalwart Shane Dawson has taken to social media to announce his engagement to fellow creator Ryland Adams.
It appears as though Dawson proposed on or around the couple’s third anniversary, as he shared several posts leading up to that date. Then, yesterday, Dawson shared a handful of photos of the proposal itself with the caption “He said yes!” Adams added: “We’re engaged! I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you. I’ve never been happier in my whole entire life!”
Dawson has become one of YouTube’s foremost documentarians and boasts more than 21 million subscribers on his flagship YouTube channel. He came out as bisexual in 2015 and started dating Adams in early 2016. Adams was a former ClevverTV host who has struck out on his own with a massive vlog channel with more than 3.9 million subscribers
Their engagement marks a particularly joyful moment for the YouTube community, with niceties pouring in from Dawson and Adams’ peers, including Carly Incontro, JackSepticEye, MrBeast, and many more. Dawson’s original Tweet of the announcement has also proven to be incredibly popular, already racking up more than 162,000 Retweets and 800,000 Likes in less than 12 hours.
