VidCon U.S. Adds Actress-Turned-YouTuber Laura Prepon To ‘Featured Creator’ Lineup

VidCon has announced the latest round of ‘Featured Creators‘ slated to headline its stateside gathering this summer. The Viacom-owned video convention announced its first round of Featured Creators — who attend Vidcon for free and in turn participate in panels and programming — in October, and then added more names last month.

Of note among the most recent additions is Laura Prepon — the actress best known for roles in Orange Is The New Black and That ‘70s Show. In addition to her flourishing acting career, Prepon is also apparently a burgeoning YouTube creator: her cooking channel, launched four months ago, has quickly amassed 59,000 subscribers. And Prepon boasts an even bigger following on Instagram — to the tune of 5 million followers. You can check out her most-viewed video to date, a tutorial showing viewers how to prepare homemade almond milk — below.

“I’m looking forward to meeting fans, creators, and learning more about the VidCon community,” Prepon said in a statement.

Also slated to convene at the Anaheim Convention Center from July 10 to 13 are YouTube luminaries Kandee Johnson, DeStorm Power, and Jacksfilms. And given that this year marks VidCon’s 10th anniversary, the convention will also celebrate several ‘Founding Featured Creators‘, or early viral stars who have attended VidCon since its inception.

Other Featured Creators added to the roster today include: Dormtainment, Antonio Garza, Larray, Jazz And Tae, Hannah Meloche, The KREW, Sam And Colby, Ellie Thumann, Anna Rothschild, Nyma Tang, Aaron Kyro, William Osman, JaNina, and Molly Lewis. You can check out the full rundown right here.

In addition to its flagship Anaheim gathering, VidCon also hosts events in Australia and London. Last year, its conferences collectively welcomed 100,000 attendees, the company said.
