YouTube is bringing native digital stars and Hollywood celebrities alike to the Sundance Film Festival, where it is slated to host two high-profile panel presentations tomorrow.
First, YouTube will host Calling The Shots: Women In Front Of And Behind The Camera, to underscore the importance of female voices in entertainment. Liza Koshy — who is the co-creator and star of the just-renewed YouTube Premium comedy, Liza On Demand — will be joined by director Hannah Lux Davis (of Ariana Grande’s record-breaking “Thank U, Next” music video and the YouTube Original documentary Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated) as well as YouTube’s global head of entertainment, media, and experiences, Angela Courtin.
Immediately after that, YouTube will host The Creatives Behind Some of YouTube’s Buzziest Channels — a nod to the growing number of traditional celebrities who are trying their hand at digital creation, such as Will Smith, Jason Momoa, and Riverdale star Madelaine Petsch.
Momoa will be joined by the creative team behind his production studio, On The Roam, which also helms his YouTube channel — including producer Brian Mendoza and director Etienne Aurelius, as well as Sadao Turner, who serves as head of social media for Smith’s Westbrook Entertainment, and Lauren Fortner, who works with Petsch on her channel through the social media management firm Imprint Media.
