Amazon’s Head Of Unscripted TV Out After Investigation Into Inappropriate Comments (Report)

Amazon Studios has reportedly lost yet another top TV executive amid claims of inappropriate conduct.

Amazon’s head of unscripted TV, the veteran television producer Heather Schuster, has exited the company less than one year after assuming the role from predecessor Conrad Riggs. Riggs left the company last October after Amazon Studios’ previous chief, Roy Price, departed amid claims of sexual misconduct. Former NBC exec Jennifer Salke was brought on to replace Price in February, and Schuster marks the first senior executive departure on her watch.

Deadline reports that Amazon was investigating Schuster for inappropriate comments during meetings, and misuse of power. While it is unclear what exactly she said, competitor Netflix

similarly let go of its longtime chief communications officer in June for using inappropriate language — in his case, the n-word — during a meeting with staffers.

Schuster joined Amazon from Ryan Seacrest Productions in August 2017. Prior to that, she served as a producer for Donald Trump’s The Apprentice over the course of five seasons. Amazon’s most notable title over which Schuster presided in the unscripted space is the British motoring series The Grand Tour.
