Will Smith To Casey Neistat: “Let’s Get To Creatin’”

As he continues to immerse himself in the YouTube scene, Will Smith has linked up with one of the platform’s foremost stars to aid him on his creator journey.

On their respective Instagram accounts, Smith and Casey Neistat shared the love yesterday. “I’ve been wanting to meet Casey Neistat for years!” Smith wrote. “We hung out today. Yo, man…let’s get to creatin’.”

Their meeting was also captured on Neistat’s new vlog venture, 368, which is following him as he builds a co-working space for digital creators in downtown New York. In his most recent video (below), Neistat notes that some commenters have painfully pointed out that 368 only seems to comprise his regular vlogs. Neistat counters that starting a business is slow-going, and that many ventures are getting off the ground, including a YouTuber incubator program, as well as a gaming division.

In the vlog, Neistat takes Smith to 368 — which is still under construction — to show off the space’s retail shop and creator area. Smith notes that he’s also been thinking about ways to fund and support creators — in the vein of the historic Medici family in Italy, who developed a patronage model — and tells Neistat that he’d be open to collaborating if 368 ever launches on the West Coast. “If we get this right, then the next Michelangelo of YouTube could come out of 368,” Neistat enthuses.
