Alisha Marie Returns From Two-Month Hiatus, Looks To Normalize Breaks For YouTube Stars

Back in May, YouTube star Alisha Marie announced her plan to take a brief break from her primary YouTube channel. At the time, the beauty, fashion, and lifestyle influencer, who recently celebrated her ten-year anniversary on YouTube, expressed her need to catch her breath and mitigate the sort of creative burnout that affects so many videomakers on the internet.

Now, Marie has returned to her primary channel with a renewed state of mind and a desire to share new types of content with her 7.6 million subscribers. “The past three weeks has really been me trying my hardest to plan for this comeback,” she said in her latest video, “having photoshoots, planning intros, business side, girlboss. I want to show you guys how hard I work.”

The new videos Marie has planned will be marked by a more honest look at the ups-and-downs of her emotional state while also revealing more of the work she does behind the camera. She’ll also continue to produce more of the videos for which she is best known, including fashion “hauls.”

It is Marie’s hope that these sorts of breaks will become more normal on YouTube. “I think that everyone should be aware of taking care of yourself,” she told Entrepreneur back in May. That’s important, and that’s not selfish. I definitely felt bad — I thought I’d let people down, or I thought, ‘I can do it, I don’t need to take a break,’ until it got to the point where I knew I needed to, and I wish I’d listened to myself along the way more. Taking care of yourself is way more important than any money or views or anything like that.”

In addition to her main channel, Marie also runs a vlog channel, where she remained active during her break. That hub counts close to three million subscribers.
