Rooster Teeth Taps Former Porn Actress-Turned-Sports Host Mia Khalifa To Resurrect ‘Sportsball’ Podcast

Rooster Teeth has tapped former pornographic actress-turned social media personality Mia Khalifa to help resurrect Sportsball — a sports video podcast that was cancelled after an initial run from Aug. 2015 to Feb. 2016.

The first iteration of the series was hosted by Rooster Teeth’s resident sports enthusiast and former ESPN radio personality Tyler Coe, who is also returning for the rebooted version. The weekly series, premiering on July 16, is aimed at “sports fans who don’t take themselves too seriously,” according to Rooster Teeth, and will feature no-holds-barred interviews and free-flowing conversations on sports news with a comedic twist.

Khalifa, who was born in Lebanon and grew up in America, has formerly appeared on the Rooster Teeth series Always Open — a chat show hosted by Barbara Dunkelman

about all things life, love, and sex. After retiring from pornography in 2015, she has also appeared on dozens of sports radio shows — most recently as co-host of Complex’s Out Of Bounds with Gilbert Arenas. Khalifa, who counts 8.4 million Instagram followers, also runs YouTube and Twitch channels, as well as a Patreon page.

“This show is about having fun, because that’s what sports are,” says Coe. “No politics, no hot takes, no force-fed analysis — we’re here to make sports talk fun again.”

The series will premiere exclusively on Rooster Teeth’s subscription service, First, which is priced at $4.99 per month. Check out a teaser for Sportsball below:
