Fresh off the launch of IGTV, Instagram has compiled a brand new handbook for creators that purports to help them with audience growth and brand-building by harnessing the platform’s novel long-form vertical format.

The 50-page reference guide, available here, advises that users enable their camera phone grids to better frame subjects vertically. The company also suggests that creators can have their cameras set to ‘video mode’ everytime it opens, and notes that a ‘Do Not Disturb’ setting ensures that filming won’t be interrupted by incoming calls or texts.

In terms of editing, Instagram suggests a bevy of third-party apps, including Videoleap, InShot, and Carve. And physical camera phone accessories can significantly ramp up production quality, the company writes, including attachable lenses and handheld stabilizers.
