Twitch To Stream 48-Hour-Long ‘Saturday Night Live’ Marathon Ahead Of Sketch Show’s Season Finale

Twitch is showcasing the best clips from the the 43-year history of TV’s longest-running sketch show. Beginning at 6 PM ET on May 17, the streaming platform will host a 48-hour Saturday Night Live marathon, which will feature two repeating eight-hour blocks of sketch comedy.

The first eight-hour block will begin on the 17th and will repeat twice before ceding the digital stage to the second eight-hour block, which will also air three times in total. The marathon will lead into the finale episode of SNL‘s 43rd season, which will go live from New York at 11:30 PM ET on May 19.

A Twitch blog post notes a few of the performances viewers can expect to see, including Darrell Hammond’s take on Bill Clinton and Adam Sandler’s “Lunch Lady Land” song. The post also notes the one clip from SNL‘s history to feature a Twitch shoutout.

“Similar to Twitch chat, Saturday Night Live serves as live commentary on pop culture and current events,” said Jane Weedon, Director of Business Development at Twitch, in a press release. “Each SNL sketch is a snapshot of its time, making it the ideal show to unite our global community across generations as they comment on the commentary!”

The SNL marathon will take place on the Twitch Presents channel, which the streaming platform has used to share content from partners in the entertainment industry. Previous broadcasts on that hub have included an 831-episode Power Rangers marathon and a five-day anime binge presented by Crunchyroll.

Individual streamers will also be able to host their own broadcasts of the SNL marathon, during which they can add their own commentary and interact with their fans. You can also find the marathon embedded below:
