Ahead Of Royal Wedding, Meghan Markle Videos Have Received 94 Million Views On YouTube In 2018

With the Royal Wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just days away, many admirers around the world have developed a keen interest in the British crown. In order to sate their appetites for content related to the royal family, those admirers have turned to YouTube. On the world’s top video site, clips related to Markle have reeled in 94 million views since the start of the year, making her the most viewed royal of 2018.

Markle’s engagement to Prince Harry was announced last November. Since then, viewers have flocked to video platforms to learn about the American actress, previously known for her role in the USA series Suits. The most viewed clip YouTube featuring her is an interview the CBC

conducted with her and her husband-to-be shortly after they announced their union. Since it was first uploaded, it has received more than 4.2 million views.

Viewership on Markle-related videos has vaulted the American to the top of a royal family member viewership chart provided by YouTube. In reaching the number-one spot on that list, she has supplanted her new sister-in-law, Kate Middleton.

Markle may be YouTube’s top royal in 2018, but she’s not the all-time most-viewed member of the British crown. That title belongs to Princess Diana, who, more than two decades after her death, still draws significant viewership on videos related to her life.

We’ll see if Markle remains a hot topic on YouTube after her union with Prince Harry is solidified. The Royal Wedding between the happy couple is expected to take place on May 19.
