DreamWorksTV, a division of Awesomeness that creates family-friendly digital content distributed via YouTube, has pacted with Amazon to launch its first subscription offering.
As of today, four-year-old DreamWorksTV is available on Amazon Channels — a service that enables Prime members to subscribe to individual OTT networks, like HBO and Starz. DreamWorksTV will offer exclusive programming on the new eponymous OTT service, including Schneck & Eck Crack The Case, Action Figures In Action, Secret Agent Challenge, and Neighborhood Super Watch. New episodes, targeting children aged six to 12, will arrive every week.
The DreamWorksTV channel will offer a seven-day free trial and is priced at $4.99 per month thereafter.
“As we continue to grow the DreamWorksTV brand, this is an exciting step for us to explore revenue streams and brand engagement across platforms,” the network’s head, Birk Rawlings, said in a statement. “We are excited to team up with Amazon Channels as they have a highly recognized and sought-after entertainment brand that has a huge opportunity in the kids space for compelling, exclusive, and original content — all of which this channel delivers.”
DreamWorksTV has amassed 3.8 million YouTube subscribers to date, and has produced more than 100 live action and animated series, including Life Hacks For Kids and Junk Drawer Magic — both of which it says average 1 million views per week.
