‘Binging With Babish’ Host Andrew Rea Reads Bedtime Stories In New Podcast

Andrew Rea is putting his deep, velvety voice to good use in his latest media venture.

Rea, the host of the culinary web series Binging With Babish, has launched a podcast called Bedtime With Babish, in which he reads prose and poetry to his listeners.

Each weekly episode of Bedtime With Babish features its own story, delivered from Rea to somnolent viewers. The first tale he spins is a holiday classic: Twas The Night Before Christmas. To celebrate the launch of his podcast, Rea rented a cabin in Pennsylvania and retreated there to read in front of a camera. With a whiskey in hand and a crackling fire behind him, he shares the Yuletide adventures of St. Nick, his dulcet tones lulling listeners into a calm, wintertime slumber. “The video is a joke but the podcast isn’t,” he wrote in the clip’s YouTube description.

In 2017, Rea became a known name in the online video world thanks to Binging With Babish, which emerged as one of the breakout web series of the year. In each episode, the amateur chef goes to painstaking lengths to cook foodstuffs from films, TV shows, and video games, all while mixing in a light, humorous tone and narrating his process in his rich voice. In one of his most recent recreations, he offered up his version of peking duck while referencing a comedic bit from A Christmas Story.

Bedtime With Babish can be found on iTunes, Soundcloud, and Stitcher. Meanwhile, Rea continues to update his YouTube channel regularly; he recently began hosting an instructional cooking show, Basics With Babishalongside his pop culture recreations.
