Carly Craig’s Online Dating Comedy, ‘Swipe Right’, Gets Greenlight At YouTube Red

YouTube Red is broaching the online dating sphere with a new comedy series called Swipe Right, written by and starring Carly Craig — of Role Models and Hall Pass fame.

The eight-episode series, which was co-created by Craig and director Daniel Reisinger, has been greenlighted by YouTube Red for a 2018 premiere, according to Deadline. Swipe Right is about a woman who is still single on her 35th birthday, and who decides to date all 252 of her Tinder matches at the behest of her younger — and unhappily married — sister. The multi-generational relationship comedy will also feature the ladies’ mother, who is recently widowed and also trying her hand at online dating.

Robin Schiff (Romy & Michele’s High School Reunion) will serve as co-showrunner with Craig, while executive producers will include Craig, Reisinger, Schiff, and Jeremy Garelick (The Break-Up). Sam Anzel will produce.

“We are excited to be in business with Carly Craig, Jeremy Garelick, and Daniel Reisinger to create a comedy about dating anxiety in the social media age,” said YouTube’s global head of original content, Susanne Daniels. “We know our YouTube audience will fall in love with Swipe Right, a relatable, hilariously awkward but always honest portrayal of dating, relationships, and adulthood(ish) from this talented female-led ensemble.”
