MTV has added even more social star power to its Total Request Live (TRL) reboot, which is slated to premiere on Oct. 2.
Vine stars-turned-YouTube sensations The Dolan Twins have joined the after-school music countdown series as correspondents, The Hollywood Reporter reports, as part of an overall deal with MTV. Other creators who have inked comparable contracts with the network in recent weeks include Liza Koshy, Eva Gutowski, Gabbie Hanna, and Gigi Gorgeous. These creators will act as TRL‘s social media correspondents alongside a rotating cast of five hosts: Lawrence Jackson, Tamara Dhia, Erik Zachary, D.C. Young Fly, and Amy Pham.
Ethan and Grayson Dolan are 17-year-old identical twins who count 4.4 million YouTube subscribers and more than 15 million combined followers on Instagram. The duo will provide on-air hosting duties across the myriad linear and digital platforms where TRL is set to air, including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat. The show will broadcast live, as it did in years’ past, from a brand new studio in the heart of Times Square.
The Dolan Twins, who are repped by WME and Cohen & Silver, embarked on an international tour last year dubbed 4OU, where, on one stop, their rabid fans rushed the stage and caused multiple injuries.
