Oli White, Jack Maynard, Others To Headline ‘Stand Up To Cancer’ YouTube Stream

On Sept. 7, a group of U.K. vloggers — including Oli White, Jack Maynard, Josh Pieters, and Scola Dondo — will band together as part of the third annual ‘Stand Up To Cancer With YouTube’ initiative.

The four-hour live stream will comprise YouTube challenges inspired by the above creators’ legions of fans in a bid to raise money to fight cancer — and galvanize viewers to launch their own fundraising initiatives. To be hosted from noon to 4 pm ET right here, each hour will focus on a different theme, including food, lifestyle, gaming, and comedy. In a segment called ‘Tiny Food Tube’, for instance, Barry Lewis will make tiny versions of popular dishes, while Carly Rowena will attempt ‘Speed Yoga’.

Stand Up To Cancer is a five-year-old fundraising campaign in the U.K. created by Cancer Research UK and British public broadcaster Channel 4. In addition to the live stream, which is now

in its third year, the campaign also features fundraising-centric linear programming on Channel 4. To date, Stand Up To Cancer has raised more than $49 million in the U.K., funding over 40 treatment trials that have involved more than 10,000 patients.

“My mum had breast cancer, and I’m incredibly grateful she received treatment and she’s a survivor, but I know not everyone is so lucky,” White, 22, said in a statement. “Every penny raised will fund vital cancer-crushing science and save lives like my mum’s, so I really hope everyone tunes in, gets involved, and finds fun ways to fundraise to kick cancer where it hurts.”

Other creators slated to participate include cooking creator Topless Baker, fashion bloggers Kat Farmer and Megan Ellaby, and gaming stars Football Daily, LDShadowLady, Yammy, Mavric Wolves, and Séan Garnier.
