The Key Of Awesome, a YouTube comedy channel featuring music video parodies, sketches, and more, is set to debut the pilot episode of its first-ever YouTube Red series on Aug. 12.
The half-hour animated musical comedy, Reggae Shark Adventures, is based on The Key Of Awesome’s wildly popular original Reggae Shark web series, which premiered in 2014 and whose three episodes have racked up over 27 million views to date. Conceived by Key of Awesome founder Mark Douglas, Reggae Shark — a rasta musician-slash-superhero who has saved the Earth countless times and has now retired to Jamaica — is the comedy channel’s most popular original character to date.
The pilot episode of the series, which will chronicle Reggae Shark’s continued battle against his age-old nemesis, The Jelly Witch, will only be available in the U.S. and Mexico. One episode is slated for the time being — though if it proves successful, a series order could roll out everywhere YouTube Red and Google Play

Other characters in the series include Turtlemon — Reggae Shark’s best friend — and Trash Monster — a Godzilla-sized creation of the Jelly Witch whose aim is to destroy all marine life.
