Hulu has looked to Google to tap its latest chief marketing officer — the former managing director of global growth marketing for Google Cloud, Kelly Campbell. The company’s previous CMO, Jenny Wall, departed in May.
Campbell will be responsible for helming Hulu’s brand and product marketing strategy across its flagship SVOD service and its newly-launched skinny bundle of live TV channels. Campbell will also oversee performance marketing, media, content marketing, creative, entertainment publicity, and Hulu’s consumer research teams. She officially joins the company later this summer, reporting to CEO Mike Hopkins.
“Kelly is a respected, data-driven marketing expert who has consistently proven her ability to develop effective strategies and build strong, high-performing teams,” Hopkins said in a statement. “She’s going to be an invaluable addition to Hulu as we enter the next chapter of our business.”
In her previous role, Campbell was responsible for driving growth for Google Cloud products. She helped the company’s platform amass 3 million paying customers and also led a global re-branding. Campbell, who joined Google in 2005, previously worked in investment banking and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
