Awesomeness Taps Former WWE Studios Exec Brad Buchanan

Awesomeness has hired Brad Buchanan to head up its business and legal affairs department, the Gen Z-leaning media company announced this afternoon. In his new role as head of business and legal affairs, Buchanan will oversee negotiation, deals, litigation, and other corporate legal matters for the company’s four key divisions: AwesomenessTV, Awesomeness Films, Awestruck, and DreamWorksTV.

Buchanan was most recently employed as SVP of business affairs and operations at WWE Studios, where he provided business and legal counsel for the wrestling compay’s theatrical and direct-to-home productions. He has also held similar roles at stop-motion animation studio Laika as well as The Weinstein Company and Miramax Films.

“Brad is a great guy who has an impressive background — especially at companies where he figured out ways to innovate and build beyond business-as-usual,” Awesomeness president, Brett Bouttier

, said in a statement. “We are very excited to have him on our team, and I know he will help us continue to grow and expand.”

Adds Buchanan: “Awesomeness is continually disrupting the industry through their innovative deals across all divisions. I am excited to contribute to their global expansion through new partnerships.”

Last month, Awesomeness announced that Jordan Levin, the NFL’s first-ever chief content officer, was joining the company as CEO, replacing co-founder Brian Robbins. Robbins departed AwesomenessTV in February and will lead a newly-launched division at Paramount Pictures, which will produce feature films conceived in collaboration with Viacom‘s television networks.
