Adam Savage, Alie Ward Find GE Tech “In The Wild” In New Branded Web Series

General Electric (GE) is fortunate to be a business whose everyday operations can make for a compelling viewing experience, and the conglomerate’s latest web series takes advantage of that fact. It has tapped one-time myth buster Adam Savage and fellow TV personality Alie Ward as the hosts of In The Wild, a show that explores some of GE’s most impressive innovations in the world of tech.

Savage and Ward both have plenty of personality to go around, but the real stars of In The Wild are the machines in its spotlight. In the show’s premiere, its two hosts head to Greenville, South Carolina, where they get to play with a top-of-the-line 3D printer that uses “additive” technology. The exuberance displayed by Savage and Ward gives In The Wild a kid-in-a-candy-store feel.

GE is no stranger to branded video content. It was an early adopter of Vine

, and it has also made its mark on YouTube through partnerships with channels like ASAPScience and The Slow Mo Guys. In 2015, it joined forces with Fullscreen to launch a creator-in-residence program that married industry to pop culture.

With In The Wild, GE is trying to give viewers an honest look into its day-to-day operations. “We wanted to put out a series that educates audiences on what GE actually does, and wow people with our technology ‘out in the real world,’ not just one or two industries, but in the eight-plus industries where we are constantly innovating,” GE Chief Creative Officer Andy Goldberg told Fast Company.

In The Wild can be found on GE’s YouTube channel. The show’s run currently consists of two episodes, the second of which explores a jet engine manufacturing facility in Ohio.
