Description: On his channel, Gus Johnson (no, not that one) has released a bevy of clips, many of which are under 30 seconds and most of which are funny. Whether he’s giving his cat stern looks, making music in the bathroom, or studying meme-ology, Johnson crafts gags that are both unexpected and sharply-executed.

Now, he wants to take his brand of comedy to the world of serial entertainment. He is the man behind the Kickstarter campaign for Par 9, a planned comedy that will follow four bumbling dudes who take over a golf course together.

As Johnson says in his pitch video, the protagonists of Par 9 will be beset by “debt, bees, and weeds” as they look to make their course a winner; their own shared ineptitude surely won’t help matters. After working on an early take on Par 9 this year, Johnson wants to share a bigger version of the story that would premiere in October:

Creator Bio: Johnson is based in Wisconsin. According to his Twitter, his middle name is “Danger,” so I wouldn’t mess with him if I were you.

Best Perk: If you pledge at least $69 (nice), Johnson will Skype with you. It is unclear if he can offer any tips for your golf swing.

Why You Should Fund It: With his comedy videos, Johnson has shown he has the timing and the bright ideas needed to entertain an audience of thousands. If you’re worried his jokes won’t translate to a serial medium, you can check out the original version of Par 9, which is available in its entirety on YouTube. It’s a fun, high-quality pilot, and with a little extra funding, one would think Johnson can cut a few more strokes off his golf comedy game.
