Lionsgate And Mamrie Hart Sign First-Look Deal With Eye To Directing

Leading film and TV company Lionsgate is deepening its relationship with renowned YouTube comic Mamrie Hart. Lionsgate has inked a first-look deal with Hart “with an eye toward feature directorial opportunities,” according to the company. Lionsgate and Hart will collaborate on these projects with Vincent Nastri, her manager at Bleecker Street Entertainment.

Lionsgate previously acquired Dirty Thirty — a feature film that Hart co-wrote, co-produced, and co-starred in alongside frequent collaborators Grace Helbig and Hannah Hart. (Together, the trio is often referred to as YouTube’s ‘Holy Trinity’).

“[Lionsgate] couldn’t have been more supportive or collaborative in all aspects of Dirty Thirty, but beyond that, they aren’t scared to take risks and try things that might not normally fit within the traditional model,” Hart said of the deal.

Both Helbig and Hannah Hart have also inked first-look deals with Lionsgate. Helbig, for her part, signed an overall deal to develop movie and TV projects with the company last October

. And in February, Hannah Hart signed a deal to star in and executive produce LGBTQ-leaning projects. Last October, Lionsgate committed to spending $25 million per year on film and TV projects led by digital stars.

In addition to her beloved YouTube channel and series You Deserve A Drink (on which she has more than 1.2 million subscribers), in which Hart brews cocktails inspired by pop culture, she also released a New York Times Best Selling book of the same name in 2015. ‘The Holy Trinity’ also continues to co-headline a comedy tour across the globe dubbed #NoFilter. Hart, who counts 3 million followers across all of her social channels, is represented by CAA, attorney Melissa Fox, and managed by Bleecker Street Entertainment.
