Jukin Fills Leadership Roles With Former GoPro, SheKnows Media Execs

User-generated content company Jukin Media has tapped two new hires to lead its licensing business and sales team.

Brendon Mulvihill, the former head of content licensing at GoPro, has been named SVP and global head of licensing, while Zach Alter, who formerly served as VP of sales at SheKnows Media, will serve as Jukin’s VP and head of sales.

In his new role, Mulvihill will lead all aspects of the company’s licensing business. At GoPro, Mulvihill built and lead the company’s licensing division, which enables advertisers to license user-generated videos. Mulvihill will report to Jukin’s chief growth officer, Cameron Saless. During each of the past three years, Jukin has doubled its licensing revenue, the company says.

Alter, for his part, will charge sales and branded entertainment for Jukin’s self-owned social video properties, including FailArmy

, People Are Awesome, The Pet Collective, and JukinVideo — which boast a combined 1.5 billion monthly views and more than 55 million fans across social media. Alter, who spent six years working with top brands on video campaigns at women’s lifestyle platform SheKnows, will also report to Saless. With his hire, Jukin’s ad sales, which were formerly conducted by a third-party firm, are now completely in-house, the company said.

“Brendon is a known dealmaker, and he shares our understanding of how UGC video is changing advertising, media, and entertainment,” Saless said in a statement. ”We’ve been focused on building big, engaged fan communities, and now Zach will help us make advertisers a more integral part of the experience.”
