Flo Rida Crowdsources Fan Video Using The Snakt App

A fan video has arrived for a new Flo Rida song, and it features dancers from around the world. The popular rapper teamed up with video app Snakt and choreographer Tricia Miranda (known for her work with artists like Beyonce) to collect dance clips set to the song “Cake” and piece them together to form a full video.

Snakt, for those unfamiliar with it, is an app that compiles clips and lets users stitch them together to form homemade videos. As a demo shows, Snakt users can remix the content created by others while adding in their own responses.

The #CakeChallenge, as Snakt’s crowdsourced fan video is known, got rolling with some help from Flo Rida, who promoted the contest in a tweet

. Dance teams and individuals proceeded to send in their best moves, and Snakt showcased the best ones in the “Cake” video, which is available on the Snakt YouTube channel.

The “Cake” video is not the first one to be pulled together by a crowdsourced group of dancers. Most notably, the video for Silentó’s “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae) showcased a diverse group of performers, some of whom have gone on to achieve digital stardom of their own.
