Each year, those of us who root for the NFL’s chronic losers approach the Super Bowl with a combination of disappointment and resignation. Since 2013, however, a YouTube channel run by an anonymous individual within the music adds a bit of levity to that mix. Bad Lip Reading has continued its esteemed annual tradition by providing its fifth NFL video in as many years.

The resulting dubs are often startlingly plausible. Are we sure, for example, that Philip Rivers isn’t secretly a huge X-Files fan? The video evidence is pretty compelling.
At the time of this post, less than two hours after the video’s release, it already has more than 100,000 views. Most of Bad Lip Reading’s other NFL videos have ultimately reached eight-digit view counts, and that seems like a fair projection for this one as well.
