This Friday, Dec. 30, Amazon is launching an inaugural site-wide sale that the e-tailer has dubbed ‘Digital Day‘ — during which more than 1,000 TV shows, movies, albums, apps, mobile games, eBooks, and more will be up to 50% off for a total of 24 hours.
Digital Day is not unlike ‘Prime Day‘, a shopping event hosted by Amazon annually in July that offers similar deals on a variety of goods exclusively for Prime members. On Digital Day, top music albums will be sold for $5 apiece and select video games will be up to 80% off, according to Techcrunch, while a Plex Pass streaming subscription will be discounted by 50%. While a full list of sale items has yet to be released, initial deals include H&R tax software, a UFC Fight Pass
, Qello Concerts, Microsoft Office Suite, films like The Lego Movie and Bolt, and video games including Titanfall 2 and FIFA 17.Amazon is also offering discounts on two of its own services, Techcrunch reports. Streaming music service Amazon Music Unlimited — a Spotify competitor — will offer new customers $10 off, while a subscription for the kids reading app Amazon Rapids will also be discounted by 33%.
If Prime Day is any indication, Digital Day could serve as a major sales boon for the company. Amazon announced in July that Prime Day 2016 was the biggest shopping day in the site’s history.
