Cards Against Humanity Dug A Hole And Got 3.6 Million YouTube Views In Three Days

In case you needed any more proof that we are entering into the age of gag live streams, Cards Against Humanity has you covered. The company known for creating its eponymous card game shared a live stream as it dug a pointless “Holiday Hole,” and three days later, that video has attracted more than 3.6 million views.

The Holiday Hole is just as it sounds; it’s a big hole in the ground, dug for no apparent reason. Cards Against Humanity asked its fans to donate money in order to keep the excavation going, and by the end of the stream, it had dug for more than 50 hours and raised more than $100,000. Will it donate that money to charity, or use it to fund an exciting new product? Nah. “Why aren’t YOU giving all this money to charity?” the company asks as part of an FAQ on the Holiday Hole website. “It’s your money.”

Cards Against Humanity has a well-documented history of trolls moves, and it often targets Black Friday when setting up its shenanigans. Last year, it sold literal pieces of poop to 30,000 people, thus bringing a new meaning to the term “bullshit.”

Other content on the Cards Against Humanity YouTube channel includes a web series called Tabletop Deathmatch, in which new game ideas are tested out, as well as a playlist of songs that commemorate the company’s holiday gags of yesteryear.
