Rhett & Link Release Musical Comedy Album Ahead Of The Launch Of Their YouTube Red Series

Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal, known collectively as Rhett & Link, are Renaissance men of YouTube. They’ve entertained audiences with music videos, talk shows, so-bad-they’re-good commercials, and podcast episodes. Now, they’re adding a musical comedy album to their repertoire. It features music from their upcoming YouTube Red series Rhett & Link’s Buddy System, which will premiere on October 19th.

Buddy System will follow Rhett & Link as they hunt down a vengeful ex who has stolen their phone and used it to break into their YouTube channel. As they embark on their trip, they will frequently break into song. The Buddy System album includes seven tracks, with numbers about exercise bikes, power naps, and, fittingly, BFFs.

The forthcoming YouTube Red series and its accompanying album are the latest steps in what has been a long creative journey for Rhett & Link. Their previous foray into the world of long-form programming was all the way back in 2011, when they hosted Commercial Kings

on the IFC TV channel. This time, they’re working a bit closer to home; while viewers will have to purchase a $9.99/month YouTube Red subscription in order to watch Buddy System, some portion of the 11.2 million users who subscribe to Rhett & Link’s Streamy Award-winning channel Good Mythical Morning are expected to tune in.

After its October 19th premiere, new episodes of Buddy System will arrive each Wednesday. The show’s official album is now available on Google PlayiTunesApple Music, and Amazon.
