YouTube is adding new features to its Creator Studio app, enabling creators to receive easy-to-understand analytics on-the-go and suggestions about how to take prompt action in order to grow their channels. The just-updated app will now feature data cards showcasing stats and personalized strategy suggestions, as well as provide new ways for creators to touch base with viewers, according to YouTube.
If, for instance, a creator experiences a dramatic increase or decrease in subscribers, a noted change in demographics, or a slew of views arriving from a specific traffic source, the Creator Studio app will notify users and then provide them with personalized tips about how to respond. The update will also send users links to educational resources based on their channel’s specific needs.
YouTube has also made it easier for creators to contact the company directly. After announcing at VidCon that every member of the YouTube Partner Program would be able to receive email answers from a YouTube employee within one business day — among other new support initiatives
— there is now a way for creators to email YouTube directly from within the app.“From shooting to traveling, taking meetings, or a little time off, you’re on the move,” writes Yury Polnar, global lead for creator growth, in a company blog post. “With new features to help you track and break down analytics, keep in touch with your community, and manage your channel, you can stay on top of it all, 24/7.”
New, actionable information from the Creator Studio app arrives just as YouTube announced a major overhaul to its site in the form of a new Community tab on Tuesday, which aims to make YouTube more like a social network. Creators can now share text posts, live videos, images, animated GIFs, and more — which appear within subscribers’ feeds and which viewers can respond to using thumbs up, thumbs down, or via comments.
