Alan Beard Is Fullscreen’s New CMO

On the same day it revealed an Apple TV app for its subscription video on-demand service, Fullscreen shared news of a new C-level executive. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the digital media company has announced that Alan Beard will replace Jason Klarman as its CMO.

Beard is best known as the founder of McBeard Media, a social media agency acquired by Fullscreen in 2015. He stayed on with Fullscreen after the acquisition was completed, and he will now ascend to one of the company’s top roles. “Alan Beard innately understands social platforms and how to creatively and effectively reach an entire generation that has proven very hard to reach through traditional marketing,” Fullscreen COO Andy Forssell told The Hollywood Reporter. “Having that DNA driving our central marketing efforts is already paying off in big ways for our consumer, brand and talent businesses.”

A big part of Beard’s new job will focus around the recently-launched fullscreen SVOD service, which is looking to convince viewers to pay $4.99 for a library stocked with licensed films and original programs, including several led by the popular stars of Fullscreen’s multi-channel network. The former McBeard founder will also continue to work on branded projects across multiple social media platforms.

The man who Beard is replacing as CMO was one of the primary architects of the fullscreen SVOD service. Klarman, who became the first Fullscreen employee to earn the CMO title when he was hired in 2015, will stay with the company as a consultant; he will offer his services to Fullscreen’s parent company, Otter Media.
