Endemol Shine Beyond USA, the digital network subsidiary of the Dutch media giant, announced today that it will partner with media brand Mashable to distribute five forthcoming digital series. The programming will span eSports, tech, science, lifestyle, culture and other categories, and will live on various channels owned and operated by the two companies, including their websites, social platforms, and OTT channels. Mashable’s social channels count 30 million followers, and Endemol Shine Beyond distributes content across 20 platforms, including YouTube, Roku, Dailymotion, Amazon Fire, and Apple TV.
The first series to launch in this manner will be the Endemol-produced Legends Of Gaming, which brings together top YouTube creators for an online gaming tournament. Its third season will premiere in the fourth quarter.
“Partnering with Mashable allows us to bring Legends Of Gaming, a globally successful and beloved franchise to a new audience,” said Endemol Shine Beyond USA president Bonnie Pan in a statement. “This series and our additional slate of programming represents an important milestone in the transformation of audience consumption patterns.” Adds Mashable’s chief strategy officer Adam Ostrow: “Endemol Shine Beyond has demonstrated a unique ability to tap into the growing eSports phenomenon.”
Endemol and Mashable will collaborate to find sponsors for all five forthcoming series. The other four have yet to be named.
Endemol’s Legends Of Gaming franchise, which also boasts local editions in the U.K., France, Germany, Chile, and Brazil, is a bonafide hit with roughly 70 million total views since its launch in 2014. The program’s second season, which featured 360-degree videos, was hosted by Tom Cassell, the British YouTube star known online as Syndicate.
