‘Epic Rap Battles Of History’ Co-Star Lloyd Ahlquist Announces First Album

The man who has provided a lyrical voice for everyone from Adolf Hitler to Gordon Ramsay to Thor is getting ready to release his first solo album. Epic Rap Battles of History co-creator Lloyd Ahlquist, known online as EpicLloyd, has announced his first solo EP, Here, which will arrive on July 11th.

Here will consist of eight tracks, which will showcase Ahlquist’s talent as a rapper and lyricist. The title track from the album will be featured in a music video that will be shared on the EpicLloyd YouTube channel, which has close to a half-million subscribers. In the meantime, Ahlyquist has shared a short clip from his upcoming release on Instagram.

After cutting his teeth in Chicago’s world-famous improv scene, Ahlquist rose to prominence when Epic Rap Battles of History

, which he launched alongside co-creator Peter “Nice Peter” Shukoff, achieved viral fame in 2010. Over six years, 63 episodes of ERB have attracted more than 13 million subscribers to the show’s main channel and have racked up more than 2.2 billion total views, making it one of YouTube’s most popular and iconic offerings. Ahlquist has appeared in almost every episode of the series and also serves as one of its writers.

Meanwhile, on his EpicLloyd channel, Ahlquist has been less prolific, but he has still entertained his audience with web series like Dis Raps For Hire and music videos like “Scars.” Here will be arguably his biggest solo project to date, and he’s excited about it. As he wrote on Twitter, “This is kind of a big deal for me y’all.”
