VidCon To Offer Three-Day Livestream In Partnership With YouTube, Hosted By Kingsley

If you can’t make it to Anaheim, Calif. this year — or if you’d prefer to witness VidCon’s shrieking masses from the comforts of home, you’re in luck. VidCon announced today that certain portions of the three-day event will, for the first time, be livestreamed for free in partnership with YouTube. YouTube will sponsor the stream, available at youtube.com/vidcon as well as live.vidcon.com, and live content will run throughout VidCon, from June 23 to 25, every day between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. PST.

YouTube star Kingsley will headline the stream, alongside fellow digital personalities Lee Newton and Elliott Morgan. Viewers will gain access to featured performances and panels, as well as backstage interviews with creators — with all content available on VidCon’s YouTube channel after the convention.

“I’m so honored to be hosting VidCon’s first-ever livestream so we can bring all of the excitement back to the platform that helped us get here and share it with the community that helped us grow,” Kingsley said in a statement.

The inaugural stream will feature: YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki’s keynote about the company’s latest innovations and programming initiatives; a #GirlLove panel featuring Rosanna Pansino, Cassey Ho, Lilly Singh, and Lindsey Stirling; a variety show featuring VidCon founders John and Hank Green; Q&As with Connor Franta, Smosh, and SourceFed; and the Creator Track Keynote, where top stars will share tips, lessons, and words of wisdom with aspiring YouTubers.

“We are excited to bring VidCon to all the fans and creators in the world who can’t attend the event,” YouTube product lead Kurt Wilms said in a statement. “We’ve supported live streaming since 2011 and can’t wait to power the technology behind this important event to our community.”
