Discovery Digital Networks Hires Former Huffington Post Exec Nathan Brown

As it prepares for a growth spurt, Discovery Digital Networks has added a new exec. Nathan Brown, who previously worked for The Huffington Post, has joined the Discovery Digital team as its Senior Vice President of Development and Operations.

In his role, Brown will look to deepen Discovery DN’s audience and will guide the network’s strategy. His arrival at the company comes three weeks after it announced its plan to expand its Seeker

sub-network through expansion to new platforms and tie-ins with Discovery’s other verticals, which include DNews, TestTube, and Revision3.

Brown came to The Huffington Post in 2015 after a stint at Complex Media. He was at the AOL-owned news publication for only a few months before leaving his post. His decision to join Discovery DN comes just a few months after the network hired Suzanne Kolb, formerly of E!, as its EVP and General Manager. Brown will report to Kolb.

“Nathan is a strong, innovative executive with an intimate knowledge of digital audiences and a proven track record of growing digital businesses,” said Kolb in a press release. “I am thrilled to welcome Nathan to the team and look forward to even greater future successes for Seeker and SourceFed.”

“Today’s media landscape is more dynamic than ever, and Discovery is innovating and embracing new platforms and audiences at every turn,” added Brown. “I look forward to working with Suzanne and my new colleagues to advance Discovery Digital Networks’ business and brands.”

According to the release, Discovery’s digital network scores 300 million views a month across all platforms.
