In addition to his vast array of projects at Amazon Video, Starz, Cinemax, HBO and even on his very own website, noted filmmaker Steven Soderbergh has signed on to executive produce a limited series for Netflix entitled Godless.
The project will see Soderbergh reteam with screenwriter Scott Frank, according to Variety, with whom he created 1998’s Out Of Sight. Frank will write, direct and executive produce the series.
Little is known about Godless other than that it is an hourlong Western set in the 1880s, Variety reports. Filming will take place in Santa Fe, N.M. The project will join Netflix’s other recently-announced limited series, Gilmore Girls, which will be comprised of four 90-minute episodes.
Soderbergh’s other projects currently in the works include the second season of Cinemax drama The Knick, a series about a New York City call girl for Starz called The Girlfriend Experience, Amazon comedy Red Oaks, and a Sharon Stone-starring film called Mosaic for HBO that is said to give viewers control of how the story ends using a mobile app.
