Dancers Keone And Mari Make Dual-Screen Video With YouTube’s Field Day Channel

Since its May 2015 launch, YouTube’s Field Day channel has provided top creators with a canvas on which they can display their wildest ideas. The latest channel to receive this creative opportunity is that of dance duo Keone and Mari, who used their Field Day to concoct a video that plays out across two screens.

In order to properly watch the videos, viewers must open two browsers or use two adjacent mobile devices. The left device plays the video marked “left,” and vice versa; when played at the same time, the videos interact with each other, as Keone and Mari hop from screen to screen and mess with each others’ setups.

If you’re lazy, you can also pop both videos into the YouTube Doubler

and call it a day. Here, I’ve done it for you.

Keone and Mari, who are perhaps best known for starring in a Justin Bieber music video, aren’t the first YouTube creators to launch a pair of videos meant to be played at the same time. Last year, SmarterEveryDay and Veritasium used the same trick to demonstrate the Coriolis Effect. The concept was cool then, and it’s cool now; from a technical standpoint, Keone and Mari’s video is engrossing from start to finish. More generally, it’s another strong addition to the Field Day catalog; YouTube’s year-old hive of creativity is proving itself to be a channel worth keeping an eye (or two) on.
