Production Company GRB Entertainment Shops ‘Camp Takota’ Worldwide

In February 2014, Camp Takota became available for digital download. Since then, the feature film led by YouTube stars Mamrie Hart, Grace Helbig, and Hannah Hart has been purchased several hundred thousand times. Now, a production company with an interest in digital stars is looking to add to the film’s popularity. GRB Entertainment has announced it will shop Camp Takota internationally at MIPTV.

MIPTV, which occurs each year in Cannes, France, is one of the largest annual markets of TV and digital content. The 2015 edition runs between April 13-16. GRB Entertainment, which has aired its shows in Canada, the UK, France, Germany, and Japan, will use the event to search for international distributors for Camp Takota, which stars its three leads as friends who reunite at their former summer camp.

GRB, best known for producing reality TV, is one of the companies at the forefront of a recent trend that has seen digital-native creators star in their own feature film. Recently, GRB announced its first film, Bad Night, which will feature YouTube stars Jenn McAllister and Lauren Elizabeth in its lead roles. The directors of the film, Chris and Nick Riedell, also directed Camp Takota.

In a press release, GRB CEO Gary R. Benz offered a comment about his company’s recent film projects:

“This is an exciting step for GRB. We have been planning our move into the ‘digital influencer movie world’ for some time – we have our own original movie Bad Night coming out in summer 2015. Bringing Camp Takota to the international marketplace at MIPTV elevates GRB’s commitment to this exciting new space. Camp Takota was a huge success with its digital release and now will be available to the International marketplace for the first time outside the digital platform landscape. The response to these two films has already been overwhelming – proving that these ‘digital influencers’ are creating a worldwide entertainment movement.”

Camp Takota‘s leading ladies are among YouTube’s biggest stars. Combined, they count nearly five million subscribers.
