William Morris Endeavor (WME) is expanding its portfolio of digital talent with a new partner. The renowned talent agency has signed Ryan Doon, a stand-up comedian and popular Viner.
Doon comes to WME with experience creating original comedy, as well as characters and impressions. The Viner is most well-known for his Jay-Z impersonations and his “Fun Uncle” and “Cathy” personas. Doon recently received a role in the IFC television series Maron, and has previously worked on brand deals with the likes of Ford, Qdoba, and Universal Pictures’ Dumb and Dumber To. The comedian is currently working on a book based on his Vines.
Doon joins several other digital stars who have joined WME over the last several years. YouTube stars Grace Helbig, Felicia Day, and the Fine Bros. all teamed with the talent agency in the past. More recently, WME signed seven more digital stars looking to expand their careers: Lohanthony, HolaSoyGerman, Bart Baker, CaptainSparklez, Veritasium, MakeUpByCamila, and Laci Green.
Levity Entertainment Group will still be responsible for managing Doon. The comedian boasts 2.9 million followers on Vine and over 71,000 followers on Twitter.
