18 months ago, long before Sony made a video on demand (VOD) splash with The Interview, CollegeHumor released a VOD comedy movie of its own. The comedy website produced Coffee Town, a feature film that will become available in DVD form on February 3rd.
Coffee Town, directed by Arrested Development writer Brad Copeland, follows the denizens of a local coffee shop as they fight to save their favorite java joint from closure. The cast, which includes Glenn Howerton, Ben Schwartz, Adrianne Palicki, and Josh Groban, is a good one, particularly for a VOD release. The film first arrived on iTunes and Amazon in July 2013
before earning a trip to HBO and Cinemax in May 2014.Now, the film’s viewers (who have offered up generally positive reviews) have a chance to own it. The DVD is available on Amazon, where it can be pre-ordered. In addition to the film itself, the DVD includes typical home video accoutrements like deleted scenes and cast interviews. It retails for $19.97.
