Netflix To Debut ‘The Adventures Of Puss In Boots’ On January 16

Netflix is adding to its roster of children’s programming with the upcoming Shrek-inspired The Adventures of Puss in Boots. The new original series created in conjunction with DreamWorks Animation will premiere on the streaming video platform on January 16, 2015.

Netflix will release the series in batches, much like the SVOD service and DreamWorks did with some of their other recent animated shows, like All Hail King Julien and Turbo FAST. The first five episodes of The Adventures of Puss in Boots will be available on January 16 to all Netflix subscribers in the U.S., Canada, Latin America, France, Ireland, the UK, the Nordic isles, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. More of the series’ 22-minute episodes will be released throughout 2015.

The Adventures of Puss in Boots will follow the beloved orange-coated feline (voiced by Eric Bauza from The Book of Life) as he explores the magical, prosperous city of San Lorenzo. The cat must protect the city’s inhabitants and fend off invaders when he accidentally breaks the spell which hides the city from outside eyes.
