YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki Joins The Board Of Salesforce

The CEO of YouTube is expanding her clout in the tech world by getting on board with another major player. Susan Wojcicki has joined the board of Salesforce.com, a worldwide leader in cloud computing and customer relationship management.

Wojcicki’s position on the board harkens back to her pre-YouTube job as Google’s SVP of Advertising, where she worked on projects like AdWords and AdSense. Since becoming YouTube’s top executive in February 2014, Wojcicki has used her marketing know-how to help improve advertising rates on the world’s most popular video sharing site.

Salesforce, known for its cloud-based technology, was founded in 1999 by former Oracle executive Marc Benioff. “Susan is an extraordinary executive who has been

instrumental in helping to build the world’s largest consumer cloud company, where scale, reliability and security are of critical importance,” said Benioff in a statement. “Her experience will make her an outstanding addition to our board.”

In total, there are 11 people on the Salesforce board. Other prominent board members include Yahoo chairman Maynard Webb and former Secretary of State Colin Powell.
