Top 100 Most Viewed YouTube Channels Worldwide • July 2014

For its fifth month in a row Felix Kjellberg‘s PewDiePie channel is at the top of the charts. And the online video destination for Let’s Play videogames, the occasional personal vlog, and lots of shrieks peppered with a few expletives is at the top of the charts in a commanding fashion. The channel witnessed a very impressive 25% month-over-month increase in views and scored more than 438.9 million views in the 31 days of July.

Perennial chart topper DisneyCollectorBR is up next in scond place. The online video channel that unboxes children’s toys (and was just discovered by the New York Times) racked up more than 268 million views on the month. In the #3 spot is Shakira. The international pop star isn’t racking up quite the amount of views she was during the 2014 World Cup (thanks to her single “La La La“, which was one of the official anthems of the games), but still amassed nearly 226.6 million views in July.

StampyLongHead is next in the #4 spot. The UK-based online video gamer with a penchant for Minecraft racked up more than 199.6 million views on the month. And rounding out the Top 5 is the latest high-profile addition to Maker Studios, TheDiamondMinecart, who also happens to be a UK-based online video gamer with a penchant for Minecraft. The channel ended the month up 37% with 186.1 million views.

Top Gainers

The honor of being one of our Top Gainers this month goes to The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

The daytime television home of Ellen DeGeneres had a particularly great July thanks to its steady output of comedic and feel-good clips, along with the occasional friendly prank video with a happy ending (like the one seen below). The channel witnessed a 119% month-over-month increase in views to top out at 80.3 million views and the #46 spot in the world.

The Top 100 Most Viewed YouTube channels this month amassed in aggregate a total of 9,464,066,238 views. Here’s a look at the distribution of those channels broken down by the most-represented YouTube Multi-Channel Networks on the chart:

• VEVO: 19 channels in the Top 100. Shakira is the network’s highest ranking channel at #3.
• Maker Studios: 12 channels in the Top 100, with PewDiePie at #1.
• Machinima: 5 channels in the Top 100, with VanossGaming at #12.
• Fullscreen: 4 channels in the Top 100, with Fullscreen’s TheFineBros at #8.
• DEFY Media, Disney, Movieclips, Munhwa, WMG, XMediaDigital: 2 channels each in the Top 100, with Defy’s Smosh at #24, Disney’s Disney Animation at #64, Movieclips’ MovieclipsTrailers at #22, Munhwa’s MBCEntertainment at #31, and XMediaDigital’s getmovies at #11.

And here’s a look into the distribution of the this month’s Top 100 by country of origin:

• The United States: 51 channels in the Top 100.
• Great Britain: 8 channels in the Top 100.
• South Korea, Russia: 5 channels each in the Top 100.
• Spain: 4 channels in the Top 100.
• Canada, India, Japan: 3 channels each in the Top 100.
• Argentina, Brazil, France, Sweden, Thailand: 2 channels each in the Top 100.
• Chile, Colombia, Ireland, Israel, Jordan, Mexico, Netherlands, Puerto Rico: 1 channel each in the Top 100.
