Description: The Knife Thrower figures to be a classic coming-of-age story. It will tell the story of a legendary hero who, as you might expect, will use top-notch knife skills to take down an evil entity known as the King of Wasp.

That may seem like a typical plot, but creator Anthony Jegu doesn’t seem to be all that focused on intricate twists and turns. Instead, he has pioneered a unique animation style that will breathe life into The Knife Thrower. 

Judging from Jegu’s pitch video, the characters will be black shadows against colored backgrounds to create a mythical look worthy of the fantastical story. This style will remind some video game fans of Limbo, the critically-acclaimed indie darling that featured its own shadowy characters.

Creator Bio: Jegu has the sort of experience that is nice to see in these sort of projects. He has worked in the special effects departments of Hollywood films like The Book of Eli and The Dictator. His personal works, many of which are inspired by Southeast Asian culture, can be viewed on his website.

Best Perk: Jegu has designed some pretty sweet-looking t-shirts for this project, and they are available to backers at the $100 level.

Why You Should Fund It: It’s hard to get an exact handle on how exciting The Knife Thrower will be, but give it credit for serving as a unique offering in a sea of similar web series. Jegu has an undeniable vision, and $5,000 seems like a reasonable price tag to realize it. If you’re tired on stale online video concepts, consider throwing The Knife Thrower some support, so that its five episodes can emerge from the shadows and into the light of day.
