Zoomin.TV Soars In Online Video Rankings, Launches In The US

The company that calls itself “Europe’s largest MCN” is making a significant impact across the pond. Zoomin.TV has launched in the United States one day after it appeared among the top 10 YouTube networks in Comscore’s US Online Video Rankings.

Zoomin.TV, which is headquartered in Amsterdam, took the #8 spot in Comscore’s latest ranking, which covers May 2014. The network’s partner channels include a number of YouTube gamers, and it will expand its operation in the US with the help of DBG co-founder Chris Young.

By moving up to #8, Zoomin.TV pushed Jukin Media back out of the top 10 one month after that network made its first ever appearance in Comscore’s rankings. VEVO continues to hold the #1 spot with more than 36 million unique viewers in May, with Maker Studios

in second and Fullscreen third.

There were few other surprises across the rest of the Comscore rankings; in fact, the top six spots in the main platform rankings remained unchanged. Google continues to see nearly twice as many viewers as any other platform, scoring more than 150 million unique viewers in May. Maker Studios managed to make the list as well, with its 32 million+ unique viewers good enough for eighth place. The top five spots among ad networks were similarly stagnant, with BrightRoll in first and Specific Media in second.

Altogether, Comscore’s latest figures reveal May 2014 to be a relatively quiet month in the American online video industry. There weren’t too many movers or shakers–with the exception of Zoomin.TV and its US-minded group of Europeans.
