Machinima Expands To New Platform By Launching A Twitch Channel

Machinima has always had a knack for engaging viewers. The gaming network’s fans routinely tune in for more than 90 minutes of video each month, an average that trumps other top MCNs. With this figure in mind, Machinima has launched a new channel that engineer even more engagement. It is now live streaming on Twitch, the gaming platform that attracted 45 million unique viewers each month.

Machinima’s Twitch channel will not be limited to live streaming gameplay. In addition, the network will house original content from its several verticals–including Respawn, Realm, and Prime–on its new feed. Twitch represents a viable platform for Machinima, one that reinforces its plan to build a bigger presence off of YouTube. As Maker Studios proliferates content on Blip and Collective Digital Studios does the same on Metacafe, Machinima can use Twitch to similarly steer viewers to a more profitable revenue split.

“This partnership is a huge step forward in extending Machinima’s reach to other platforms to ensure our audience can consume our programming where and when they want it,” said Allen DeBevoise, Co-Founder and CEO at Machinima. “Machinima and Twitch both have massive, passionate, and engaged audiences, and I’m excited to collaborate with Twitch to evolve and shape the future of live-streaming.”

At the same time, Twitch is a platform best known for live streams, and Machinima will kick off its new channel with a week long live stream of the new Call of Duty: Ghosts game. We assume this live stream will feature a rotating cast of Machinima partners, because the other option would be certifiably insane.
