‘Bravest Warriors’ Rules The Multiverse In Season Two Debut

Bravest Warriors is back. The animated web series drawn from the mind of Adventure Time creator Pendleton Ward has returned for a second season, with its team of space heroes continuing the adventures they began during the web series’ well-received first season.

Bravest Warriors has been arguably the most successful narrative web series to debut in the past year. The first season’s eleven episodes have scored 32 million views to date, and thanks to their popularity, home channel Cartoon Hangover has gone from under 10,000 subscribers to more than 815,000 in less than a year.

The second season picks up where season one left off, with female protagonist Beth traveling to the “See Through Realm” to battle the “Aeon Worm”. All of the themes that Adventure Time fans love are present. Fantastical world filled with bright colors? Check. Wacky characters with contorting animal bodies? Check. Satirical deconstruction of classic sci-fi and fantasy tropes? Of course. I’m not complaining, though; Bravest Warriors is just as much fun as it was last time around.

Bravest Warriors’ second season arrives the same week as Cartoon Hangover’s Bee and Puppycat Kickstarter campaign, which has already raised more than $260,000 and looks primed to break site records. Between these two projects, it is clear that Frederator Studios–the animation studio behind Cartoon Hangover–knows exactly what its fans want. Frederator head Fred Seibert explains:

“The internet is ushering in the next golden age of animation.  We created Cartoon Hangover to hurry it up and give tomorrow’s hitmakers a platform to show their creations to big audiences who deserved and are craving quality animation, wonderful writing and great characters.  Bravest Warriors reflects the type of highly-innovative and imaginative entertainment Cartoon Hangover will deliver as we look to lead a whole new animation revolution.”

In less than a day of activity, the new Bravest Warriors episode is already over 240,000 views. Contrary to its host channel’s title, there will be no second season hangover.
