Several interesting updates have emerged from the camp of vlogger/host/handsome YouTube prince Philip Defranco. The popular YouTuber has penned a blog post discussing past and future live shows, and his father has posted a vlog of his own thanking his son for helping find him a kidney donor who will give him a much-needed kidney transplant this week.
Defranco wrote that clips from his recent ‘Defranco Loves Dat AZ‘ live show (where he proposed to longtime girlfriend Lindsay Doty) will soon be available in bite-size chunks on his main channel or in one piece as a $5 digital download. The money made from the downloads will fund Defranco’s next tour dates at locations he will soon announce.
The more heartwarming story concerns Defranco’s father, Philip Franchina, Sr. 18 months ago, Defranco first informed his fans that his dad needed a kidney, and in an amazing showcase of altruism, a donor named James agreed to donate. Franchina, who goes by ‘Papa Defranco‘ on YouTube, showed his gratitude for his son in an eight-minute vlog.
So there you have it: Not only can online video fame net views, subscribers, and heaps of YouTube money, it can also get you (or your beloved pops) a kidney. Pretty cool.
