#SMWLA Preview: Chatting With Powerful Women In Entertainment

From September 23-28, online companies, executives, and personalities will gather in Santa Monica for Social Media Week Los Angeles. To help showcase the incredible events that will be going down this year, Tubefilter will be offering daily previews of individual events. Check out the full schedule here and our schedule at a glance here.

On September 26th, Juntobox Films will bring together a quartet of powerful women at Social Media Week Los Angeles. Through their respective efforts on both sides of the camera, these ladies have shattered the glass ceiling and proven you don’t need a Y chromosome to be a major player in the digital entertainment industry.

Individually, the four women who will sit on the panel play a variety of roles. Rachael McLean, the SVP of Digital at Juntobox, helps her company fund independent film projects through a fan-focused five step process; Libertas Film Magazine Editor Giovindini Murty has seen her work published in The Huffington Post and The Atlantic; Jesse Draper has supplemented her work as a TV actress with a web series, The Valley Girl Show; and Sarah Penna has partnered with a number of YouTube’s top creators (and many of its most successful women in particular) as the Founder of multi-channel network Big Frame. Together, these women will give SMWLA a much-needed dose of girl power.
